His other works include Forged (novel), Stormy Voyage (a young work), and None Died in Vain: The Saga of the Civil War (non-fiction). Robert Leckie was born on December 18, 1920 in Pennsylvania. His novel and a similar work by Eugene B. Sledge inspired the HBO program, Band of Brothers. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Second World War.
