Robert trained under Leo Burke, Bret Hart, and Stephen Petitpas during his professional wrestling career. In 1989, he made his debut for Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling under the name Acadian Giant.

He debuted for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in November 1991 in Utica, New York, under the name Giant Kurgan, defeating Bob Bradley and winning the bout. Following that, he battled in South Korea and Japan for W*ING Promotions under the new name Goliath El Gigante, effectively establishing his net worth.

After returning to the United States in 1997, Robert signed with the WWF under the new ring name The Interrogator and began performing as a member of The Truth Commission, a group of wrestlers.

Since the group’s debut in the US Wrestling Association in Memphis, his career was quickly elevated to the next level (USWA). Robert and Recon won the USWA World Tag Team Championships three times during his stay there, boosting his net worth significantly.

He was reintroduced to the group under a new name, Kurrgan, in December of that year; however, he soon left it with The Jackyl, and the group was disbanded. Three years later, he landed the role of Dredger in Guy Ritchie’s historical drama mystery “Sherlock Holmes.” He accidentally slapped Robert Downey, Jr. across the face while filming a battle scene.
