Romain began his senior career with Olympique de Valence (2010-2011), a team that competed in the French soccer league system’s 5th division at the time.
He used to work at his father’s restaurant to complement his €500 monthly pay.
When he made his debut for the English team Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. in September 2016, one of his opponents, Jonjo Shelvey, yelled racial slurs at him.
