He began singing as a teenager with his brothers O’Kelly, Ronnie, and Vernon as a member of The Isley Brothers.

Rudolph, Ronald, Vernon, and O’Kelly Isley, Jr. created the Isley Brothers in 1954.

Vernon tragically died at the age of 13 in 1955.

Following Vernon’s death in 1955, The Isley Brothers traveled to New York for a recording deal.

A few years later, in 1959, he recorded and released his first single, ‘Shout,’ with The Isley Brothers.

In the 1960s, Isley and his brothers formed the T-Neck Records label to market their records.

After splitting from Motown Records, they resurrected the label and had a Grammy-winning single, ‘It’s Your Thing,’ in 1969.

While Ron was the group’s principal lead singer, Isley did some lead vocals on a couple of the Isley Brothers’ songs once T-Neck was reactivated.

The Isley Brothers’ number-one albums are Live It Up (1974), The Heat Is On (1975), Harvest for the World (1976), Go for Your Guns (1977), Showdown (1978), and Between the Sheets (1979). (1983).

‘Shout (Part 1),’ ‘This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You),’ ‘Love the One You’re With,’ ‘Summer Breeze,’ ‘That Lady (Part 1),’ and other hits are among the group’s many hits.

They’ve also scored four Billboard Top 10 hits in the United States.
