Sal Governale, or Sal The Stockbroker as we’ve all come to know him, is one character to keep an eye out for on the show. Sal was a frequent caller on the show who enjoyed mocking the show’s then-executive producer, Gary Dell’Abate. Stern took notice of him, and when the show’s mainstay, Stuttering John, left, he (Stern) held an on-air contest called “Win John’s Job,” and Sal Governale was one of the contestants.

Although he eventually lost the first position to Richard Christy, Sal’s second position earned him a position as the show’s prank caller/writer, which he held until he was promoted to the position of producer.

The radio personality and comedian has a net worth of $400,000 and a salary of $80,000.

Sal Governale’s earnings are primarily derived from his work as a writer and comedian on The Howard Stern Show.

His parents are devout Muslims with North African ancestors. Sal is said to have converted to Catholicism during his adolescence due to his disdain for his birth religion.

Sal Governale grew up working in his father’s kabob shop, where he frequently butchered lambs in the alley.

As a teenager, he lacked the coordination to participate in sports, so he focused on activities such as breakdancing and rapping.

Sal Governale: Professional Career

Sal Governale went to community college after high school with the intention of studying radiology, but dropped out and began looking for work.

He found solace in the stock market as a stockbroker after several short-lived jobs, working tirelessly in the boiler room operations (outbound call center) to sell penny stocks to widows and orphans.

Many of his coworkers were convicted of securities fraud, and Sal was only able to avoid jail time by agreeing to testify against his coworkers.

While working as a stockbroker, he enjoyed calling into the Howard Stern Show to play phone pranks on the show’s then-executive producer, Gary Dell’Abate.

He was hired as a writer for the show after finishing second in the “Win John’s Job” contest.

Sal Governale took on the stage name “Sal The Stockbroker” and quickly became well known on the show for his prank phone calls and the numerous stunts he performs on the show.

Despite making some crude racial jokes on the show and in stand-up appearances, Sai denies being a racist.

Howard has stated repeatedly that the addition of Sal and Richard to the show has made it more enjoyable than it was before their arrival, and fans appear to agree.

Sal Governale has been married to Christine Governale since 1996, and the couple has three sons, born in 1999, 2001, and 2003. Christine is said to be an escort.

Rumors of divorce have followed their marriage, but the couple is still together.

Sal’s last son, Aaron, was in the studio in 2016 for a spelling bee competition against Ronnie Mund, and while there, the youngster made some shocking revelations about his father and life at home.

The brilliant lad revealed that their mother does the majority of the house discipline, as the kids usually just laugh when their father loses his temper.
