Sarah and Bryan met for the first time in 2008 during Mike Huckabee’s 2008 presidential campaign. The two established a love connection and became engaged in August 2009 at Bryan’s family property in Kansas.

It was back in 1992 that she took her first steps towards directing a political campaign, standing next to her father during his maiden campaign for the US Senate.

In 2002, she was chosen the field coordinator of Mike Huckabee’s 2002 re-election campaign for governor of Arkansas.

She continued her political career by later serving President George W. Bush, and since then has formed her own consulting organization, Second Street Strategies.

Scarlett Wiles Sanders has since led campaigns for various Republican politicians, including her father’s 2008 presidential campaign, Tim Pawlenty’s 2012 presidential campaign, and also worked for her father during the 2016 presidential race. However, after Donald Trump secured the Republican nomination, she remained his top adviser until the end of the presidential campaign.

Following Trump’s victory, Sarah was named the new deputy White House press secretary, next to Sean Spicer who was the Press Secretary.

She would start replacing Sean when he was out on Naval Reserve duty and continuing to work in Spicer’s name when James Comey was relieved of his duties as an FBI director.

She was behind Trump’s every word, backing his and the activities of the whole administration.

As Sarah continued to defend President Trump, her standing at the White House strengthened, and when Spicer announced that he is retiring, Sarah was made the new White House press secretary.

She was only the third woman in history to hold the role, after Dee Dee Myers, who was appointed in 1993, and Dana Petrino back in 2007.
