Stan Cadwallader was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in the United States of America, in 1948. Stan was reared in Honolulu as an only child by his father, a firefighter, and his mother, a homemaker.

He went to a high school in his hometown and started attending the fire department with his father, so after matriculating, he chose to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a firefighter.

Stan and Jim Nabors met in 1975 when Stan was ready to leave his firefighting squad and pursue a business opportunity.

They first became business partners, then began dating, but kept their relationship hidden from the public view because being homosexual or lesbian in the United States at the time was frowned upon.

They began dating in the early 2000s and married on January 13, 2013, in Seattle, Washington, at the Fairmount Olympic Hotel, shortly after same-sex marriage became legal in the first state in the United States.

Until Jim went away on November 30, 2017, the two appeared to be living a great life together. In 2012, he was diagnosed with hepatitis B and received a liver transplant; the surgery was reportedly successful, but Jim’s health deteriorated over time, eventually leading to his death.
