After graduating from Yale in 1985, Mnuchin began working at Goldman Sachs, where his father had been since 1957.
He became a partner of Goldman in 1994.
He maintained various positions as a partner until he departed the company in 2002.
He received an estimated $46 million in company shares and $12.6 million in pay in the months leading up to his resignation after 17 years of employment.
