After being inspired by Walter Cronkite, Hendricks decided to pursue a career in journalism. He was speaking in one of Susan’s Arizona State University journalism classes.

She worked as a field reporter while there. Susan was fortunate to meet her inspiration, Walter Cronkite while working at KESQ. She did an interview with him on KESQ.
