After winning her first Tony Award for choreographing the early 1990s Broadway revival of Crazy for You, she went on to win the same honor for her work on Show Boat and Contact. In 2001, she won two Tonys for her work on The Producers. She has also choreographed productions for both the New York City Ballet and The Martha Graham Company. Susan Stroman was born on October 17, 1954 in Delaware. She and Harold Prince co-directed the original London production of Paradise Found. She trained as a dancer throughout her childhood years and went on to study theatre at the University of Delaware. After relocating to New York City in the mid-1970s, she appeared in the ensemble of the 1979 Broadway production of Whoopee! and went on to choreograph a 1987 Off-Broadway production of Flora the Red Menace.
