Burnett is a musician, songwriter, record producer, and soundtrack composer from the United States. He also formed the music label DMZ. 

His earliest musical honors were from record production and sound design for feature pictures.

Truth Decay, Burnett’s first solo album after the Alpha Band, was released on the Takoma Records label in 1980. 

The Criminal Under My Own Hat, Bone’s 1992 album, contained alternative music for adults.

Similarly, he released two albums in 2006.

In 2019, he released The Invisible Light: Acoustic Space with Jay Bellerose and Keefus Ciancia.

Thousands of other pieces of material, including some of Bone’s recordings, were also damaged in the 2008 Universal fire.
