Hawaiian steel guitarist who founded The Tau Moe Family traveling musical group. Tau Moe was born on August 13, 1908 in Samoa. Kul Lee was another popular Hawaiian musician, whose music also became popular from coast to coast on the mainland. He and Rose Moe left Hawaii in their teens to work in the French colony of Tahiti and, after a series of World War II-induced moves, he ended up in Bombay playing in a jazz band.
