Terry Jones was born in Colwyn Bay on February 1, 1942. He was the son of bank clerk Alick George Parry-Jones and Dilys Louisa Newnes (homemaker).
His father was stationed in India for RAF duty.
During the academic year 1960-61, he served as school captain. Jones completed his English degree at Oxford University’s St Edmund Hall.
