From 1959 until 1970, this Northern Irish-born centre back played for England’s Arsenal F.C. He went on to play three seasons for the Hull City A.F.C. and to subsequently manage Arsenal during a period in the late 1970s and early 1980s when the team reached several FA Cup finals. Terry Neill was born on May 8, 1942 in Northern Ireland. Beginning at the age of thirty-four, Neill managed an Arsenal team that included players Pat Jennings and Malcolm Macdonald. He played his youth career for Bangor F.C. and Arsenal’s youth squad and went on to make his senior career debut for Arsenal in a late 1960 match against Sheffield Wednesday.
