The Acorn Theatre Company in Aberdeen began casting Kasim as Reddington in their performance of “Talented Mr. Ripley” in 2006.

Kasim made his stage debut in “Big White Fog” at the Almeida Theatre in London in 2007, directed by Michael Attenborough. 

That same year, he played Joe Bailey in the first season of “Nearly Famous,” and in March, he appeared in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s “The Brothers Size” at the Young Vic, directed by Bijan Sheibani. 

In November of 2008, he returned to the same play.

From 2009 to 2011, Kasim was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s long ensemble, appearing in David Farr’s “King Lear” as Edmund, “The Winter’s Tale” as Florizel, Michael Boyd’s “Anthony and Cleopatra” as Mardian, Lucy Bailey’s “Julius Caesar” in “The Grain Store,” and Jamie Lloyd’s “American Trade” as Pharus. 

In 2012, he appeared in Jamie Lloyd’s “The Duchess of Malfi” at the Old Vic Theatre.

Kasim played Dumaine in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s performance of “Love’s Labour’s Lost” from September 2014 to March 2015.

He played Eric in “Les Blancs” at the National Theatre in 2016, and Caesar in Simon Godwin’s production of “Antony and Cleopatra” at the Royal National Theatre in 2018.

Kasim appeared in the film “The Good Liar” in 2019 and has subsequently portrayed Ned Nickerson in “Nancy Drew” from 2019 until the present.
