WayV boy band group

WayV is a Chinese boy band that serves as the fourth overall sub-unit of the South Korean boy band NCT. WayV started as a septet with members Kun, Ten, Winwin, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang, managed by SM Entertainment’s Chinese sublabel Label V.

The group has released a number of songs, extended plays, and albums throughout the years, including Awaken the World, Take Off, Kick Back, The Vision, Take Over the Moon, Phantom, Regular, Turn Back Time, Love Talk, and Moonwalk.

WayV has also received other awards, including the Asia Artist Award for “Asia Celebrity Award – Music” and the MAMA Awards for “Best New Asian Artist” and “Favorite Asian Artist.”

WayV Fanmeeting Tour “Section#1: We Are Your Vision” was the boy band’s first headlining tour in 2019.

WayV released the digital extended play The Vision on January 17, 2019, which contained songs including Come Back, Regular, and Dream Launch.

Regular peaked at number nine on the Chinese QQ chart and number three on the US World chart.

WayV’s debut studio album Awaken the World was published on June 9, 2020, by Label V and SM Entertainment.

Turn Back Time, Bad Alive, Unbreakable, Only Human, After Midnight, Up from Here, Domino, Stand by Me, and Electric Hearts were among the songs on the album.

The album reached number three on the South Korean Albums (Gaon) chart, number nine on the US Global Albums (Billboard) chart, number 19 on the Japanese Albums (Oricon) chart, and number 33 on the Japan Hot Albums (Billboard Japan) chart.

On October 29, 2019, WayV released its second extended play, Take Over the Moon, which includes the songs Yeah Yeah Yes, Face to Face, King of Hearts, Love Talk, and Moonwalk.

The EP reached number five on the South Korean Albums (Gaon) chart, number twelve on the US Global Albums (Billboard) chart, and number twenty-four on the US Heatseekers Albums (Billboard) chart.

On July 23, 2020, the boy band donated a donation to the China Social Welfare Foundation’s charity project to assist flood victims and front-line flood relief workers in Jiangxi and Hunan.

Jay Chou, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, and Justin Bieber are among WayV’s musical influences.

On March 10, 2021, Label V and SM Entertainment released WayV’s third extended play Kick Back, which includes the songs Action Figure, Good Time, Kick Back, All For Love, and Horizon.

The EP debuted at #1 on the South Korean Albums (Gaon) chart, #13 on the Japanese Albums (Oricon) chart, and #35 on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart.

WayV released its fourth extended play Phantom on December 28, 2022, and it includes songs such as Diamonds Only, Good Luck, Broken Love, Phantom, Good Life, Back to You, Try My Luck, and others.

It reached #4 on the Japanese Albums (Oricon) chart, as well as #5 on the Japanese Combined Albums (Oricon), Japanese Hot Albums (Billboard Japan), and South Korean Albums (Circle) charts.

The ensemble has appeared on numerous shows, including Dream Plan, WayVision, and WayVision 2.
