Nima Momeni’s arrest for the suspected murder of Bob Lee became known on Thursday morning. Bob Lee died from two knife wounds to the chest. On April 4, 2023, he was discovered unconscious in San Francisco’s Rincon Hill neighborhood after police responded to stabbing reports.

Lee was spotted stumbling into an alleyway, asking for help before faltering approaching a parked car and lifting his shirt to show his wound, but the driver sped away before Lee could collapse to the ground.

Before bringing him to the hospital, police attempted to help him, but he died as a result of his injuries.

Prosecutors want him kept without bail at his arraignment on Friday.

If convicted, he might face a lengthy prison sentence.

The exact length has not been published, but he could face more than 30 years in prison.

Some in the tech industry have used Bob Lee’s death to criticize San Francisco’s crime policies, with Elon Musk tweeting about it and asking for more decisive action against repeat violent criminals.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Nima Momeni has a history of legal issues.

In 2008, he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in Santa Clara County and received a six-day prison sentence.

In 2013, he pled no contest to driving while unlicensed in the same county, was fined $154 and forced to attend a program.

In 2011, he was accused of selling a switchblade and driving while his license was suspended in Alameda County, which resulted in a fine and a 10-day prison sentence.

Nima Momeni Arrested and Charged

Nima Momeni, a 38-year-old man, was arrested in San Francisco for the murder of computer executive Bob Lee.

According to Police Chief Bill Scott, Momeni and Lee knew each other and the assault was not random.

He was arrested at 5 a.m. at his home in Emeryville, a San Francisco neighborhood just across the Bay Bridge.

In addition to two other warrants served in San Francisco, police served a warrant to search and arrest him at his home.

Momeni and Lee allegedly battled before he attacked Lee.

According to Momeni’s LinkedIn profile, he owns Expand IT, a technology and cybersecurity firm situated in Emeryville that has been in business since 2010.
