What Did David Walliams Say That Got Him Fired From BGT?

David Williams

The story of David Walliams’ dismissal from Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) has gone viral online, and many people are curious as to what he may have said to provoke such a strong reaction. David Walliams, whose given name is David Edward Williams OBE, is a well-known English comedian, actor, author, novelist, and television personality.

Walliams rose to prominence through his work with Matt Lucas on the BBC sketch programs Little Britain and Fly With Me.

After joining the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV in 2012, the actor remained on the show until 2022.

In the 2007 TV movie drama Capturing Mary, the comedian played the role of Greville White.

He co-wrote and starred in the BBC One comedy Big School for two seasons (2013–14).

The author was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his service to the arts and charity at the 2017 Birthday Honours.

For the BBC charity Sport Relief, Walliams swam the English Channel, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the River Thames, raising millions of pounds.

Scandal and Controversy Surrounding David Walliams

Since David Walliams did not appear in the most recent BGT programs, many have expressed an interest in hearing more about the controversies and scandals surrounding the comedian.

David was more than content to disregard the premiere of the new season of Britain’s Got Talent, which began just months after his unexpected exit from the show.

As a result of the issue surrounding David, the 51-year-old comedian decided to leave BGT in November.

David departed BGT unexpectedly last year after audio surfaced of Walliams making derogatory comments about contestants.

An elder opponent was called a “c**t” three times on one occasion.

David was overheard making the following remark about a female rival on another recording:

“She’s like the slightly dull chick you meet in the pub who thinks you want to f**k them, but you don’t.”

After the release of the tapes, David offered a contrite apology, saying he regretted making derogatory remarks about some people during breaks during the filming of Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.

The comedian also expressed regret for the majority of the interactions with friends that were accidentally made public.

However, a few days later he decided to cancel the rest of the season, and Bruno Tonioli, a former judge on Strictly Come Dancing, replaced Walliams.

David Walliams Left BGT

Britain’s Got Talent returns this Saturday with a new season, and Bruno Tonioli, a former contestant on Strictly Come, Dancing, will serve as a judge for the first time.

However, David Walliams will be visibly absent from the judging panel since he decided to step down from his position after ten years on the panel last year.

Bruno’s acceptance of a lucrative contract to perform on the show was announced in January, putting an end to rumors that David might be replaced.

After David announced his departure from the judging panel for Britain’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell claimed he “wasn’t engaged” with the situation.

After remaining silent about the comedian’s departure, the TV executive finally spoke out, saying he would “never condone” the comedian’s disrespectful statements to other participants.

Simon claims that although David was involved in the discussions leading up to his departure as an executive producer and judge on the show, other more “hands-on” producers were also involved.

David has been recognized as the Best TV Judge at the National Television Awards in 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2020 for his work on Britain’s Got Talent.

Several fans expressed their sadness over David’s departure from the ITV show in comments on his social media pages, with one user writing, “Miss you on BGT.” The BGT will never be the same without you, David.
