Masvidal’s arraignment has been scheduled for April 21, 2022.

Arrest and Charges Against Jorge Masvidal

According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, MMA fighter Jorge Masvidal is being held in detention in a Miami jail after being charged with aggravated violence with bodily harm and criminal mischief.

Masvidal’s bond has been set at $15,000.

Masvidal and Colby Covington got into a fight that necessitated police intervention.

On March 5, Covington defeated the other in their UFC 272 fight.

The state attorney’s office requested and received a continuance on April 21, 2022, which is now valid until April 28.

Masvidal was granted a stay-away order on April 28, and the charges for aggravated assault were reduced in response to allegations that Covington had brain damage as a result of the alleged incident.

During the status hearing on May 12, a pre-trial hearing and trial date were set for August 17 and August 29, 2022, respectively.

Hearings and trials have been postponed for mid-November and mid-February 2023, respectively, due to combined continuances.
