Adjoa Andoh and Howard Cunnell initially met in 1994, when Howard took over the bookstore at the Battersea Arts Centre, which also housed Andoh’s theater troupe, Wild Iris.

They married in 2001 after dating for the majority of 1995 and had two children (born in 1996 and 1997).

Andoh also has a previous marriage daughter (born in 1985 or 1986).

Cundell has previously worked as a lifeguard, scuba diving instructor, public speaker, and author.

The pair moved to Sussex in 2022 after previously residing in Brixton.
