A muslim-American scholar who is known for being the co-founder of Zaytuna College in Berkley where he also teaches courses on Arabic law, history, and Islamic spirituality. He is also known for co-founding United For Change, an organization designed to help include and diversify the Muslin community. Zaid Shakir was born on May 24, 1956, in Berkeley, CA.
