Zakaria scored all four goals for Jong AZ, AZ Alkmaar’s reserve squad, in a win over a professional club called Helmond Sport in December 2019.
In November 2020, he made his senior national debut for Morocco, scoring the team’s fourth goal in a 4-1 win over the Central African Republic.
The game was part of the qualification process for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021.
In the 33rd edition of the biennial international men’s soccer championship of Africa (played in January and February 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic), Zakaria scored the second goal of his senior-level international career for Morocco – the second goal of a 2-0 win over Comoros in the group stage.
