Joyce married Adrian Rogers, Pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova. He was honored as the Southern Baptist Convention’s three-time president.
However, he died of cancer and pneumonia in November 2005, just a few months after retiring from the pulpit.
Joyce walked alongside her husband for 54 years as he rose to become one of the most well-known pastors in Southern Baptist Life.
