Tony Corrente has been a National Football League official since the 1995 season. His most prominent officiating role was as the Super Bowl XLI referee. Tony Corrente has also served as the Coordinator of Football Officiating for the Pacific-12 Conference since June 2011. He resigned from this position in October of 2014.

Tony Corrente- Professional Career
Corrente began officiating high school and junior college games in 1971 as a member of the Long Beach and San Gabriel Valley Football Officials Associations.
Between 1971 and 1981, Corrente worked as a referee and back judge for three Southern Section Championships of the California Interscholastic Federation and seven Junior College Bowl games. In 1981, he became a member of the Big West Conference’s staff, officiating the Freedom and California Bowls.
For the past six years, he has worked as a full-time referee in the Big West. In 1991, Corrente became a member of the Western Athletic Conference’s officiating crew. Tony resigned as Commissioner of Officiating for the Pac-12 Conference on October 8, 2014, citing personal and professional reasons.
Corrente joined the NFL as a field judge in 1995 and was promoted to referee at the start of the 1998 season. During his three seasons as a back judge, he worked two postseason games, including the 1997 NFC Championship Game. In 1998, he became a referee after Dale Hamer returned to the job of the head linesman and Gary Lane to the position of side judge.
In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Corrente worked the NFC Championship Game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants in 2001, and the AFC Championship Game between the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in 2010.
Since joining the NFL in 1995, Corrente has been a part of 13 post-season assignments. On January 19, 2014, Corrente officiated the AFC Championship Game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots in Denver.
On January 6, 2019, he officiated the NFC Wild Card game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears, which is remembered for the Double Doink. In addition to refereeing, he used to teach social sciences at Wilkes University until returning after being afflicted with cancer.
