Balls Mahoney was a professional wrestler who competed under the name Jonathan Rechner. From the late 1990s to the early 2000s, he was most recognized for his tenure with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). In 2016, he passed away.

Balls Mahoney spent three years with the World Wrestling Council before taking a four-year hiatus before returning to the scene in Smokey Mountain Wrestling under the moniker Boo Bradley Jr.

Balls Mahoney was born on April 11, 1972, in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, USA.

Balls grew up in Spring Lake Heights and had a passion for wrestling at a young age, starting training at the age of 15. He received his training at the Monster Factory and made his debut in 1987 as Abbudah Singh.

Balls Mahoney- Relationship, Married Life, Boyfriend/ Girlfriend

In 2006, Mahoney married Gayle Schechter, with whom he remained for a decade until his death. He died in his home while watching “Jeopardy!” just after his 44th birthday. He was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.

He spent three years with the World Wrestling Council before taking a four-year hiatus before returning to the scene in Smokey Mountain Wrestling under the moniker Boo Bradley Jr.

Tammy Sytch was his manager at the time, and he was embroiled in a narrative where his management abused him. When she killed his pet cat, everything escalated, and he turned against her, becoming a fan favorite.

After that, he became friends with Cactus Jack and began a long feud with his former partner Chris Candido, who was managed by his former management. During his reign, he won the SMW Beat Champ Television Championship twice.

In 1995, he joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he worked as a jobber under his true name of Rechner until he lost the right to use his name in about and became known as Xanta Klaus.

In 1997, he joined ECW under the name Balls Mahoney, which marked the beginning of his meteoric climb to fame. ECW fans that enjoyed harsh matches and violence adored his characteristic steel chair, which he sat in most of the time.

He formed The Hardcore Chair Swingin’ Freaks with Axl Rotten. They tried and failed multiple times to win the Tag Team Championship.

He subsequently teamed up with Masata Tanaka to win the World Tag Team Championship for the first time, making it his first title reign as a tag team champion.

They were defeated by the Dudley Boyz shortly after. Later, he joined a tag team with Spike Dudley and won the championship once more, this time for a few months until losing it to the Dudley Boyz. He also competed for the ECW World Television Championship but lost to Rob Van Dam. He frequently lost matches during his final year at the organization.

Balls Mahoney- Death

He died of a heart attack, according to the postmortem results. It was also determined that he had CTE, a degenerative brain disease caused by repeated head injuries over time. In response to these reports, the family launched a lawsuit against WWE, but it was eventually rejected.

He and the late Chris Candido were childhood buddies who dreamed of pursuing a career in professional wrestling together. They even dreamed of starting a wrestling promotion and used to train together when they were younger.
