In December 2019, the victim’s husband, David Raubenolt, made an emotional plea to the judge to expedite the case.

However, in April 2021, he was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

Herrin’s lawyer, however, submitted a motion to decrease his sentence,

stating that the 24-year term was too harsh and that a 10- to 12-year sentence would have been more appropriate.

Herrin’s attorney contended that Warren’s comments should be taken into

account because he was the “chief law enforcement officer” and a “minister of justice.”

Hillsborough Circuit Judge Christopher Nash, however, denied the motion,

holding that a trial court had the authority to disregard prosecutors’ findings and recommendations.

“In his court filing, the defense attorney says I was ‘ok’ with and rejected a 10- to 12-year

sentence in back-to-back sentences.” “That doesn’t make any sense,” Warren replied.

As a result, he was sentenced to 24 years in prison, and no other information about the case has been made public.
