Collier Gwin Arrested For Spraying Homeless Woman With Hose

Collier Gwin

The gallery’s owner, Collier Gwin, was jailed after spraying a homeless lady with a garden hose because she refused to vacate the pavement he was cleaning. Gwin has lived in San Francisco for 45 years.

He stated that after spending days cleaning up

her trash and allowing her to sleep in his doorway,

this confrontation was the consequence of several attempts to gain the woman’s help.

Gwin alleged that he and other nearby business owners had phoned the SFPD

and social services more than two dozen times in the last two weeks.

Since the event, the woman has been receiving assistance from the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Collier Gwin is charged with spraying a homeless woman.

Gwin was detained and taken into an SFPD cruiser outside his gallery on the

700 block of Montgomery Street in San Francisco on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., according to KPIX.

Gwin’s use of a hose to spray the woman provoked widespread uproar the previous week.

A video of the owner and operator of Foster Gwin Gallery spraying

a homeless lady with a garden hose in the city’s Financial District went viral late Monday morning.

Gwin declared his resignation on Monday. He acknowledged having lived there for forty years.

He has met many homeless individuals, assisted those in need, and has never had any interpersonal conflicts.

But, in this case, he was really furious because the city was powerless to intervene and their hands were also constrained.

Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for misdemeanor violence

in connection with the gallery owner spraying an unhoused lady with a hose last week.

The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office released a news release

regarding the warrant on Wednesday afternoon, and DA Brooke Jenkins tweeted about it.

The mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, said on Friday that the episode

reminded her of how the police handled civil rights demonstrations in the 1960s.

Furthermore, according to the press release, the vandalism at the Foster Gwin Gallery

must stop since two wrongs do not equal a right.

Gwin has apologized multiple times after the incident sparked an uproar.
