Dale Bozzio: Birth & Career

Dale Frances Consalvi was born in Massachusetts on March 2, 1955; little is known about her childhood or immediate family members.

Her musical career did not begin until she met composer Frank Zappa. Their chance meeting resulted in him offering her a role in his 1979 opera, Joe’s Opera.

As a result, her career in show business began. Dale’s operatic monologue has been used in other forms of media.

Dale Bozzio formed the band Missing Persons in 1980 with her Zappa teammates Warren Cuccurullo and Terry Bozzio, whom she later married.

The band released three albums before disbanding in 1986, the same year Dale and Terry separated and divorced. Bozzio continued to make music under her husband’s name, which marked the beginning of her solo career.
