She began her broadcast meteorology career in Southern West Virginia, which has deep valleys and the Appalachian Mountains.
Frances then traveled north to work as the morning meteorologist, forecasting for the Shenandoah Valley, the Appalachian Mountains, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
She has reported on devastating floods, severe thunderstorms, tropical storms, and tornado chases.
She is a founding member of the Cherry Blossom Chapter of the National Charity League. Frances served as Vice President of Philanthropy for the NCL, Cherry Blossom Chapter, for the girls in her year during her first year.
