Producer Hal Davis and Marc Gordan granted Berry Gordy’s proposal to establish a Motown headquarters in Los Angeles in 1965.

Wilson, for one, accepted the offer and joined the team.

In 1963, he released his first single, Stevie, written by Patrice Holloway of the west coast operation.

Wilson later moved to Detroit to write and produce hit singles for celebrities and bands such as Brenda Holloway, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Miracles, and The Four Tops.

He gradually began to establish his reputation and fame. 

Following that, he was approached by a number of artists and bands to write songs for them.

Once Holland-Dozier Kendricks departed the company, he rose to prominence. 

He collaborates with numerous well-known vocalists and composes music.

Almost 40 copyright compositions have been realized and released.

He also wrote Castles in the Sand (1965), I’m So Thankful (1965), All I Need (1967), Chained(1967), Lovechild(1968), and I’m Gonna Make You Love Me (1968). (1969).

Wilson later quit Motown in 1976 to become a born-again Christian. 

Along the way, he became a priest, traveler, and book author.

He also wrote Master Degree: Majoring in Your Marriage and Unmasking the Lone Ranger.
