Wong was born and reared in a suburban neighborhood in upstate Troy, New York. As a child, she would participate in sports such as softball, soccer, and ice hockey, even alongside boys.

The desire to cook did not arise from within the family. Wong recalls her father only knowing how to fried bologna. Her mother, on the other hand, had learned to cook on her own. Wong’s parents were constantly encouraging. She stated that in times of need, they were her friends as well as her siblings.

She attended the International Culinary Center to further her education (ICC). She planned to work in the fashion industry after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Lee Anne Wong took a break from cooking after the birth of her son Rye in November 2017.

Wong recalled that the doctor had to perform a c-section because her child refused to come out despite the fact that she had been in labor for four days.

Her husband, she continued, had been by her side for all four nights and more. He was the best spouse Wong could have asked for.

Wong’s feelings for her husband grew stronger when she remarked that marrying was the nicest thing that had ever happened to her. For more than three years, the couple’s marriage was going strong.

She returned to Top Chef All-Stars in 2020, this time with renewed vigor and the desire to win it all. It was claimed that Wong’s Hawaiian restaurant’s dining room was in crisis due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Wong had started a GoFundMe campaign to support her staff as a cry for help for the right cause. She later changed her mind and pursued a profession in culinary arts at Marcus Samuelsson’s Aquavit.

Hawaiian Airlines Executive Chef she is an industry expert in the foodservice industry. Wong opened Koko Head Cafe, an island-style brunch spot in Honolulu’s Kaimuki neighborhood, in 2014.
