Eun-soo-Professional Career

Lim won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2017 South Korean Figure Skating Championships, the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2019 South Korean Figure Skating Championships, and the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2016 and 2018 South Korean Figure Skating Championships.

She was selected to compete in the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and was South Korea’s lone ladies’ entrant to the 2019 World Figure Skating Championships after winning the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2019 South Korean Figure Skating Championships.

She finished fourth in the short program at the 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, where she would have established a new personal best score if not for a one-point reduction for a time violation.

Her inaugural appearance at the 2019 World Figure Skating Championships was overshadowed by a big scandal after Lim’s management agency claimed that she had been intentionally hurt in practice by American figure skater Mariah Bell. The latter’s toe-pick had scraped the back of Lim’s left leg during a practice session.

The ISU undertook an investigation on these charges, but Mariah received no penalty and was absolved of any wrongdoing since the investigators found no evidence to substantiate Lim’s allegations.

Because Lim and Mariah were both training in the United States under the same instructor at the time, Lim elected to leave that coach after the event and return to South Korea, where she reconnected with her former coaches.
