Lucas Cruikshank was born in Columbus, Nebraska, and attended Lakeview High School. He started making YouTube videos with his relatives and came up with the Fred Figglehorn character while experimenting with different characters.
Fred Figglehorn is a six-year-old boy who struggles with anger control and has a miserable home life. In 2008, he began submitting films about Fred to YouTube and later created his own “Fred” channel.
The “Fred” channel was the first to surpass one million views on YouTube. Since then, the character’s popularity has soared. “Fred: The Movie” premiered on Nickelodeon in 2009.
The television movie was a success, and Nickelodeon commissioned two sequels, “Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred,” and a third film, “Fred 3: Camp Fred,” which debuted in 2012.
