He published a second autobiographical work titled Life Arises Out of Darkness and a third called Au Nom de Tous les Hommes. Martin Gray was born on April 27, 1922, in Poland. Actor Michael York starred in the 1980s miniseries version of For Those I Loved. After emigrating from his native Poland to America at the end of World War II, he became an antique salesman.
