She portrayed Deanna Troi, the ship’s counselor who is half-Betazoid and half-human Deanna’s half-Betazoid heritage allows her to read people’s emotions.

She was a main cast member for all seven seasons, with her character becoming a Starfleet officer and being allowed to go on missions with teams,

carry weapons, and be the ship’s staff supervisor. Marina reprised her role as Deanna Troi in Star Trek films such as

“Star Trek Generations” in 1994, “Star Trek First Contact” in 1996, and “Star Trek Insurrection” in 1998; she also appeared in three episodes of the “Star Trek: Voyager” TV series and the final episode of the “Star Trek: Enterprise” TV series in 2005.

Marina also appeared in other movies and TV shows while filming “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” including the 1990 film “One Last Chance” and the 1992 TV series “The Fifth Corner”.
