Mr. Anthony McRae Michael McRae, his father, described him as a mama’s boy. After Anthony McRae’s mother, Linda McRae, died of a stroke in September 2020, the gunman grew bitter and wicked. The gunman in the Michigan State University mass shooting was Anthony McRae. He killed three MSU students and injured five more.
McRae died later from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities discovered a weapon but were unsure whether it had been used in the shooting.
Anthony had no affiliation with the University and was neither a staff member nor a student there.

Anthony McRae was born on June 10, 1979, in Bear, Delaware, to Michael and Linda McRae.
He was one of his parents’ three children.
The Lansing native was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and relocated to Michigan in 2003.
He was close to his mother, Linda, according to his father, Michael McRae, 43.
The late shooter was struggling to cope with his mother’s loss. Linda McRae died of a stroke on September 13, 2020.
Anthony’s perspective on life “shifted” after his mother died. “He was a daddy’s boy.”
His mother was his idol. They had a close friendship.
“His mother was like his sister,” Michael McRae said.
Following his abrupt death, Anthony apparently abandoned his job at a warehouse and spent the entire day playing video games in his apartment.
“He was grieving for his mother.” He couldn’t let it go. “He became more bitter,” Michael McRae said.
He became mean and evil over time, and no longer gave a damn about whatever his Father added.
It’s not that the senior McRae didn’t make an effort to assist his kid.
Michael encouraged Anthony to speak with him, seek treatment, and go to church with him.
However, the MSU suspect gunman denied his assistance, stating, “I am fine, Dad.” “I don’t require assistance.”
Michael McRae stated he had no idea why his son chose the University.
But he suspected he was attempting to apply for a job there.
Anthony McRae’s Wife and Children
Anthony McRae, the MSU mass shooting suspect, does not appear to be married.
He lived in Lasing, Michigan, with his father.
There has been no mention of the wife or children. It’s most likely because he didn’t have one.

Previous Arrests of Anthony McRae
Anthony McRae’s most serious infraction prior to Monday night’s deadly shooting occurred in June 2019.
A Lansing Police officer discovered him smoking a cigarette on the back steps of a building.
When one of the cops approached and asked if he had any weapons or anything, he acknowledged being armed. Officers located a Ruger LCP.380 semi-automatic pistol in his jeans pocket, according to court filings.
Anthony was initially charged with concealing a handgun.
It is a felony punishable by up to five years in jail.
He was also charged with having a loaded firearm in or near a moving vehicle, a misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison. Anthony McRae was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to the misdemeanor.
The authority discharged him in May 2021.
