In 1966, Mike Murdock married Linda Lormand. The couple decided to adopt a son named Jason in 1979. Mike and Linda separated later that year and eventually divorced – after 13 years of marriage, towards the end of 1979. Linda was awarded custody of their son during their divorce.

John Ellis Murdock and Willie Durham Murdock are Milke Murdock’s parents. Before Mike was called to the ministry, his father, John Murdock, was a pastor.

On May 26, 1934, his father married his mother, Willie Durham, and they reportedly had seven children – though it is unclear if they were all his biological children. He established a large number of churches in Louisiana.
