Molly moved to Orlando,Florida in 2008 to work as the chief meteorologist at Fox channel WOFL, then WGNO in Los Angeles, an ABC affiliate channel, after working there for two years. Molly returned to Minneapolis and accepted the offer from WCCO-TV, a CBS affiliate channel.

She vanished from the channel in 2018, though no official announcement of her departure was ever made.
