A jury is contemplating whether to execute the shooter who massacred 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue.
Last month, a jury found Robert Bowers guilty of the October 2018 attack.
They must now pick between execution and life in jail for him.
The prosecution’s goal is to prove that Bowers intended to kill.
According to the defense, he had a history of mental illness, demonstrating his inability.
Bowers, the perpetrator of the deadliest anti-Semitic massacre in US history,
was found guilty of 69 felonies last month. It is unusual for federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty.

79 people in federal courts were sentenced to death between 1988 and 2021, with 16 being executed.
