The footage of the Gold Coast helicopter accident has gone viral on Reddit, and people are looking for it all over the internet. Four individuals were killed in the disaster, which was investigated by professional investigators who combed through the wreckage of two helicopters that collided in the Gold Coast air.
On New Year’s Day, two Sea World Helicopters-operated helicopters collided while performing joy flights over the Broadwater near the theme park.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is presently investigating the wreckage, reviewing the video of the incident, and consulting with witnesses and operators to determine what caused the crash.
The specific cause of the two helicopters colliding in midair is still unknown, although the crash occurred 200 to 300 meters in the air on Monday at 2:00 pm, according to ATSB Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell.
He said that at the time of the disaster, one helicopter carrying seven people was taking off and another carrying six people was landing.
When the landing helicopter’s main rotors collided with the plane lifting off, “considerable damage” was done to the front area.
As a result, the main rotor blades and gearbox of the ascending aircraft separated, and the plane fell onto the sandbar.
Mr. Mitchell remarked on the second helicopter’s ability to land upright.
Takeoff and landing are essential to flight periods with the highest cognitive burden for pilots, according to the ATSB.
After the crash, four people were killed and three were critically injured
The crash killed four individuals and the helicopter’s pilot, who was about to take off.
They were 36, 40, 57, and 65 years old, respectively.
Ashley Jenkinson of Sea World Helicopters was killed in the crash. Friends regarded him as a “true legend” who helped rescue stranded neighbors and supplied supplies during the Northern Rivers flooding.
Two of the two individuals were presumed to be British nationals.
The second victim hails from Glenmore Park, New South Wales.
According to Queensland Police Acting Inspector Mike Campbell, one of the fatalities was linked to one of the survivors.
A mother and son, as well as another youngster, were among the three additional victims who suffered critical injuries, according to police.
Winnie De Silva, 33, of Geelong, and her 9-year-old son were gravely hurt, together with a 10-year-old kid from New South Wales. Three of them are still hospitalized.

Mr. Mitchell stated that the ATSB is gathering all available information and data, including footage from passenger cams, helicopter vision, and eyewitness reports.
He thanked residents who provided building CCTV and camera footage so that investigators could piece together what had happened.
