Geyer’s parents both survived the Holocaust and her father, Eddy, sang in the Great Synagogue chorus.

Initially, the Geyers established a migrant hostel in Greenwich, where Jews fleeing war-torn Europe could stay.

They looked after them till they were capable of looking after themselves.

Her brothers, Robbie and Dennis, live in Sydney and San Francisco, respectively.
