Yannis More’s missing mystery case, which was recorded in 1989, is still unsolved, and people are curious. As the hunt for missing 2-year-old Emile continues, a local mayor reflected on the decades-old case of a 3-year-old who vanished in Ganagobie, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, in 1989.

In response to the 1989 disappearance of Yannis Moré, Ganagobie mayor Sylvie Belmonte told La Provence,
“I sent a tiny note of support to the mayor of Vernet, François Balique.”
When Yannis went missing while playing with his three brothers, one hundred gendarmes, soldiers,
firefighters, and volunteers went in search of him. However, there were no witnesses, suggestions, or suspects.

Investigators are investigating all possible leads, including pedophile networks,
infanticide, kidnapping by a couple in need of children, and so forth.
All of these leads are useless. In regards to Emile, the villagers go on hunts,
walk through the forest, and look in rock crevices.
Gérard Puig, the investigation’s director, recounts thirty years later:
“We try everything to find the answer, but we can’t.”
We tell ourselves that the solution is someplace out there, but we don’t have it.
Because of this, we remember it even ten years after retirement, he told France Info in 2019.
He remembers Yannis’ mother phoning him late at night in the woods.

Yannis would be 37 today. For his mother, the thirty-year wait has been agonizing. It is still difficult and ongoing.
According to Pascaline Moré, the most difficult part is not knowing what occurred,
where he is, or whether he is alive or dead.
She told France Info on the International Day of Missing Children, “I believe that until the end, it will always be the same.”
Today, the drugs kicked in. The lawsuit was dismissed by the judge. Three enormous boxes from Yannis’ life and the mother’s memories remain.
