The Charlotte Observer named Robert Player of the Year. For his junior year, he transferred to Donda Academy, Kanye West’s school in Simi Valley, California.

Dillingham is a five-star prospect and one of the top point guards in the 2023 class. On December 1, 2021, he chose NC State over Memphis, LSU, Kansas, and Kentucky as his collegiate basketball team.

As the program’s second-highest-ranked prospect, he surpassed Dennis Smith Jr. Dillingham led the United States to gold at the 2021 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Mexico.

After a fantastic performance with high scores, he was named the most valuable player. In the final, he set a team record with 31 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in a 90–75 victory over Argentina.
