Robin Finck- Professional Career
Robin Finck’s family relocated to Marietta, Georgia, where he began his musical career with several unsigned bands in the Atlanta area.
His first encounter with the rock band Nine Inch Nails occurred during their 1994-95 Self-Destruct and Deeper Down the Spiral tours when he joined them as a traveling party member following the departure of guitarist Richard Patrick.
He also performed with the band at Woodstock ’94, a music festival held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original 1969 Woodstock festival.
After finishing the tours, he joined the legendary circus troupe Cirque du Soleil for the initial tour of Quidam, the troupe’s 9th stage performance.
In 1997, he signed a two-year deal with Guns N’ Roses to replace Sal Hudson aka Slash, and began work on the band’s long-delayed album named Chinese Democracy.
In 1999, he rejoined Nine Inch Nails for their Fragility v1.0 and Fragility v2.0 tours, which were designed to promote the band’s 1999 album The Fragile.
Following the completion of the tours in 2000, he performed four gigs with Guns N’ Roses in 2001 and toured Europe and Asia with the band in 2002.
The band was slated to tour venues across the United States for the remainder of 2002, but the activities were canceled after two canceled shows sparked riots among supporters.
