WTTG named its weather center after her and produced a montage of Sue from years past, along with well-wishes from her colleagues.

Sue was expected to start doing occasional features reporting for WTTG as well as regular live TV appearances during the summer of 2022, despite Fox 5 calling her last forecast “Final weather forecast.”

Sue began providing weather forecasts on WTTG in 1985. Maury Povich was one of the station’s anchors at the time. After 31 years of hosting his national talk show, Maury announced his retirement.

She began her career at FOX 5 in 1985, after leaving her positions at WTVR in Richmond. Sue’s first child, Elizabeth, was born just a few months after she arrived at the station.
