People are looking for an update on Tanner Hoang’s case after he was discovered dead in Austin more than a week after going missing. More than a week after going missing, a Texas A&M University student was discovered dead in Austin. Tanner Hoang, 22, was last seen near the main campus of the institution.

Tanner’s father claimed that he sent him a text around 8:30 a.m. and saw a sign that Tanner had received it before turning off his son’s phone.

His wallet was discovered unharmed inside the vehicle.

The Finding Tanner Hoang Facebook page gave official search updates on leads and information about Hoang’s whereabouts and potential destination.

As of Saturday afternoon, almost 13,300 people had joined the group.

Hoang was located dead near the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360 in Austin,

not far from where the automobile was discovered, according to the non-profit Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley (AANBV).

His family was on their way to College Station that weekend for his graduation

, and they were supposed to meet Hoang for lunch that afternoon.

On the day of his disappearance, Hoang’s car was seen leaving a Shell gas station in Caldwell at about 12:05 p.m.,

driving westbound on Texas 21 toward Old Dime Box, Bastrop, and Austin.

Later that day, more surveillance footage showed Hoang’s car driving to 1395 US Highway 290 west of Elgin.

The College Station Police Department did not disclose any other information on Hoang’s death.

Volunteers and search teams were asked to return home on Saturday, before social media reports revealed Hoang’s death.
