Harris was raised in a musical family. 

For the past five decades, her family has been members of the gospel group Veney Gospel Singers.

She began singing at the age of five. When it came to singing, her mother constantly praised her. 

She joined the Veney Gospel Singers when she was 12 years old. 

Toneisha’s’ father died when she was 27 years old. 

It was the turning point in her life when she felt it was time to pursue a career as an R&B singer.

She tried out for The Voice for the first time in 2011. However, fate had other plans for her future. 

Her kid was also diagnosed with cancer at the same time. 

Her son is cancer-free now, nine years later.

She had to give up her singing career for 5 years due to her son’s health issues. 

She did, however, continue her career as a vocalist.
