Tracy Butler co-hosted ABC 7’s annual summer airing of the Chicago Air and Water show. She was a weather anchor on ABC’s Good Morning America with Spencer Christian and Tony Perkins from 1993 to 2002.
In 1988, she began her broadcasting career as a weathercaster for WTRF-TV. Before joining ABC, she was the morning and noon weather anchor at WRIC-TV in Richmond, where she worked from 1992 to 1993. Previously, she worked as the chief weather anchor at WFMJ-TV in Youngstown from 1988 to 1991.
In 2013, she and her co-director, Scott Woodruff, started a golf outing called The Duke Classic in memory of long-time ABC 7 cameraman Michael Dukewich, who died in 2012.
The program also raised $60,000, which was donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Wounded Warrior Project. She is a die-hard golf enthusiast. In general, she makes time to play golf and frequently participates in charity golf programs.
