Jim Tweto was a well-known bush pilot and aviation executive. Both men’s bodies were retrieved by Alaska state troopers, and officials contacted their relatives.

Jim Tweto was an American businessman and reality television celebrity who rose to prominence after appearing on the smash show Flying Alaska.

Tweto came on the show with his wife and three children.

The hit Discovery Channel reality series followed the family as they ran Era Alaska, a small regional airline that served isolated towns.

As the COO of Era Alaska, they later combined with Frontier Flying Service in 2009 to form Alaska’s largest regional airline.

Jim Tweto was 68 years old at the time of his death in a plane crash.

On November 26, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas, he was born to his parents.

Tweto was reared in Silver Bay, Minnesota, by his parents, the names of whom have not been released to the public.

Tweto was an avid hockey player in his youth, earning a hockey scholarship to the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Furthermore, he moved to Alaska when he was only 18 years old.

More information on his brothers and other family members is unavailable, however, we do know that he was a married man.

Ferno Tweto, Tweto’s lovely wife whom he married in 1988, survives him.
