An American writer and career magician, he wrote close to three hundred pulp fiction stories featuring a popular character known as “The Shadow.” Under the pseudonym of Andy Adams, he also wrote several “Biff Brewster” young novels. Walter B. Gibson was born on September 12, 1897, in Philadelphia, PA. He ghostwrote many magic books for Howard Thurston, Harry Houdini, and other great magicians. When he was seven, he created a puzzle that was published in the prestigious American Heritage magazine.
